1Who we are

This website, earglelabs.com, is owned and operated by eARgle Technologies LLP (LLPIN ACZ-3451), a limited liability partnership registered in India, trading as eARgle Innovation Labs. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “eARgle” mean eARgle Technologies LLP; “you” means anyone who visits this website, creates an account, enrols in a programme, or places an order with us.

We are the data fiduciary for the personal data described below, within the meaning of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”). We also follow the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

2The data we collect

We collect data in three ways: what you give us directly, what is generated as you use the site, and what our service providers pass back to us.

2.1 Data you give us

Account details

Name, email address, mobile number, password (stored only as a one-way hash), and profile photo if you upload one.

Learner details

School or college, city, course and batch enrolled in, attendance, assignment submissions, project links, quiz scores and completion certificates.

Order details

Billing name, shipping address, pin code, contact number and the items ordered, for hardware kits and components.

Enquiry details

Anything you type into a contact, custom-kit, workshop or home-tutoring enquiry form, including the message itself.

Communications

Emails, WhatsApp messages and call notes exchanged with our mentors or support team.

2.2 Data collected automatically

• IP address, approximate city-level location derived from it, browser type, device type and operating system.
• Pages visited, time spent, referring page, and the links you click on earglelabs.com.
• Course-platform activity such as lesson progress, video watch position and login timestamps.
• Cookie identifiers set by us and by the third parties listed in section 6.

2.3 Payment data we do not hold

Card numbers, CVV, UPI PINs, net-banking credentials and wallet passwords are entered on the secure, PCI-DSS compliant page of our payment gateway. eARgle never sees, receives or stores these details. We receive only the transaction reference, the amount, the payment status and the last four digits or masked instrument label returned by the gateway.

3How we use your data

We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making that produces a legal or similarly significant effect on you, and we do not build advertising profiles for sale to third parties.

4Lawful basis and consent

Under the DPDP Act we process personal data on the basis of your consent, given freely and for the specific purposes set out above, or for certain legitimate uses permitted by the Act — for example, to perform a service you have voluntarily asked for, or to comply with a legal obligation such as tax record-keeping.

Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time by writing to support@earglelabs.com. Withdrawal takes effect going forward; it does not undo processing already carried out lawfully, and it may mean we can no longer provide parts of the service — for instance, we cannot ship a kit without a delivery address.

5Who we share data with

We share personal data only with the categories of recipient listed here, only to the extent needed, and only under contractual terms that require them to protect it.

• Payment gateway — to authorise, capture and refund payments, and to run fraud checks.
• Courier and logistics partners — your name, shipping address and phone number, so that a kit order can be delivered and tracked.
• Hosting, email and infrastructure providers — who store the site and its database on our behalf.
• Learning-platform and communication tools — used to run courses, send batch notifications and host live sessions.
• Analytics providers — who receive usage data, in aggregated or pseudonymised form, to help us improve the site.
• Professional advisers — our chartered accountant and legal advisers, where required for statutory filings or advice.
• Government authorities — where disclosure is required by law, court order, or a valid request from a lawful authority.

Some of our service providers operate servers outside India. Where personal data is transferred outside India, we transfer it only to countries not restricted by the Central Government under the DPDP Act, and we require the recipient to apply protections equivalent to those described in this policy.

6Cookies and tracking

Cookies are small text files placed on your device. We use them in four ways:

You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break logins, carts and checkout. We honour browser “do not track” signals where our tooling supports them.

7How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as the purpose it was collected for still exists, and then for any additional period required by law.

• Account and learning records — for as long as your account is active, and for up to three years after it becomes inactive, so that certificates and project history can be re-issued on request.
• Order, invoice and tax records — for eight years from the end of the relevant financial year, as required under Indian tax and company law.
• Enquiry and support messages — for up to two years from the last exchange.
• Server and security logs — for up to twelve months.

When a retention period ends, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised. You may ask us to erase your data sooner — see section 9.

8How we protect your data

We apply reasonable security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we hold. These include HTTPS/TLS encryption across the whole site, hashed password storage, role-based access so that staff see only what their work requires, restricted administrator accounts, regular platform and plugin updates, and encrypted backups.

No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required under the DPDP Act, without undue delay, and tell you plainly what happened and what to do about it.

9Your rights

As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

1. Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is being processed.
2. Correct or complete data that is inaccurate, misleading or out of date.
3. Erase personal data that is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for, subject to legal retention requirements.
4. Withdraw consent previously given, at any time.
5. Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity.
6. Grieve — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer, and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied with our response.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@earglelabs.com from the address registered on your account, stating clearly what you want. We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days. There is no charge for a reasonable request.

10Children and school students

Many of our workshops are run for school students. Where a learner is under 18 years of age, we process their personal data only with verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian, or from the school or institution acting with parental authority, in line with section 9 of the DPDP Act.

For learners under 18 we do not carry out tracking or behavioural monitoring, and we do not serve them targeted advertising. Parents and guardians may review, correct or ask us to delete their child’s data at any time by writing to support@earglelabs.com.

11Third-party links and embedded content

Our pages link to and embed material from other services — datasheets, component vendors, GitHub repositories and YouTube videos among them. Those services set their own cookies and are governed by their own privacy policies. This policy covers only earglelabs.com; we are not responsible for how third-party sites handle your data, and we encourage you to read their policies before sharing anything with them.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our courses, shop and legal obligations change. The version number and “last updated” date at the top of this page always reflect the current version. If a change materially affects how we use your personal data, we will notify registered users by email or through a notice on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use earglelabs.com after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.

13Grievance officer

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, and with the DPDP Act, the contact details of our Grievance Officer are published below. He will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 30 days of receipt.
