The 28BYJ-48 is a five-volt unipolar stepper with internal gearing that yields about four thousand steps per revolution, giving precise, repeatable positioning at low speed. The supplied ULN2003 board drives it from four digital pins and shows coil activity on four LEDs, which makes the stepping sequence visible while teaching.
