IR Obstacle Avoidance Sensor Module

Description

An infrared emitter and receiver pair with an adjustable comparator, this module reports whether a surface is within a set distance, typically between two and thirty centimetres. Mounted facing downward it becomes a line sensor and facing forward an obstacle detector, which covers most of what a first robot needs.
