The Pico W adds an Infineon CYW43439 radio to the standard Pico, giving 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi without any change to the familiar RP2040 pinout. It is a strong choice for MicroPython based IoT teaching, where a student can move from a local script to a device publishing over MQTT in a single lesson.
